Viktor Cahoj ( pronounced CHAH-HOY ) is a Director of Photography whose focus is commercial cinematography and narrative work. Born in Prague in the former Czechoslovakia he escaped to Canada with his parents at the age of three. Viktor developed an incredible fervor for film, experimental art, and experiential storytelling at an early age. It is this sincere dedication to both his craft and learning all facets of the industry that has led him to a successful self-made 15 year career in film. Beginning first as an assistant editor, then moving into production, Viktor soon found his calling when he began working as a camera assistant. It wasn’t long after that his natural abilities for cinematography and collaboration instigated the move to become a professional DoP in 2013.

Viktor has created commercial work for the likes of Adidas, Nike, Go Auto, Canadian Premier League, Tequila Herradura, Loblaws, Nature Valley, Tim Hortons, and Mcdonald's to name just a few. His ability to work efficiently while maintaining concise attention to both detail and aesthetic consistently allows him to create standout cinematic commercial pieces.

In the narrative realm, Viktor is equally interested in music videos, short and long form work, having finished his first feature film in 2020 titled “Jump, Darling”, starring the inimitable Oscar-winning icon Cloris Leachman in the final role of her lifetime. He has worked extensively in the documentary genre as well, both in short and long form.

Viktor is currently based out of Toronto, Canada.
